How I work with you, in writing

Draft of October 8, 2026

What this covers

This is the written agreement behind every piece I write for you. It covers the single piece, the monthly writing retainer and the repurposing add-on, and the terms below are the same for all three.

Wherever this page says "I," it means Wendi Henry.

How the work is made

Every piece goes through the same steps: an interview with you or my own research on your business, your voice profile, a draft, a score against my written writing principles, and my edit.

How much of your time it takes is yours to set.

  • The interview is optional. If you'd rather not, I research your business and build the voice profile from that.
  • Draft reviews are optional too. You can keep them, cut them back or turn them off.
  • A single piece includes one review round, and you can skip it.

AI in the work

I use AI on some pieces, and every piece says how much. I pick the level for each piece on my seven-level scale, from Reviewed to Generated, and state it on the work.

Claude, from Anthropic, is the default tool. If you want me to use a different one, tell me and I will.

Your material and AI training

I write with AI tools: Claude, from Anthropic, unless you ask for another. By default, the material you share and the work we make together may be used to improve those tools, as each provider's terms allow.

If you'd rather it isn't, tell me, by email or in a conversation, and I'll opt your work out. From then on, your material is excluded wherever the tool lets me exclude it. Opting out never changes your price, your schedule or the quality of the work.

Who owns the work

You own the finished work. You also own your voice profile, and it stays with you if we stop working together.

When I'm away

I'm one writer, which is rather the point. A backup team covers when I'm unavailable. It covers my absences. It is not a replacement writer for the work you hired me to do.

Payment and ending the work

A single piece is agreed after a conversation and invoiced by SalesSmyth LLC. The repurposing add-on is added to the invoice for a piece or a retainer month. The three retainer tiers check out on this site.

The retainer is month to month. Unused pieces do not roll over to the next month. If the retainer ends, you keep the finished work and your voice profile.
